She started it on Instagram in 2020 to spotlight what local businesses were doing, and it grew into a guide to the whole Triangle: weekend plans, new openings, parks and patios, and the small businesses worth your money. If it is on this site, she would send a friend there.

If your group chat has been going back and forth about which Koka Booth show to grab tickets for, I don’t blame you. The Cary amphitheatre has one of its busiest fall lineups in years, and between the festivals and the concerts, there is genuinely something almost every weekend through the end of October. I pulled together everything that’s confirmed so far, plus the parking and logistics stuff I wish someone had told me the first time I went.

What’s still coming up this fall

The season actually kicked off with the 11th Annual Asia Fest with Dragon Boat Racing on September 19, and if you missed it, don’t worry, there’s plenty more ahead.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise: bones North American Tour lands on September 20. RKS is about as close to a hometown band as the Triangle gets these days, so expect this one to feel like a genuine homecoming crowd.

ZZ Top & Dwight Yoakam: Dos Amigos Tour rolls through on September 24. Two legends sharing one stage is not something that happens often, and this is a rare chance to see both without leaving Wake County.

Triangle Oktoberfest takes over the amphitheatre October 2, with steins, live polka and rock bands, and the kind of festival energy that makes fall in Cary so much fun. Check the official event info page before you go since hours can shift closer to the date.

The Hum Sub Cary Diwali Festival follows on October 10, a free, family friendly celebration of Diwali with performances, food and fireworks that has grown into one of the largest Diwali festivals on the East Coast. Details and the full schedule are on Hum Sub’s site.

Ty Myers: The Legal Tour plays October 15. Myers has been one of the breakout country names of the year, and this is a hometown-adjacent stop worth grabbing tickets for early.

Trampled by Turtles brings their bluegrass-meets-rock sound to the amphitheatre on October 18, and if you’ve never seen them live, the lawn is the place to be for this one.

Closing out the run is Gavin Adcock: The Day I Hang It Up Tour on October 24, a fitting way to send off the fall concert season at Koka Booth.

All of these are confirmed dates as of this writing, but concert calendars shift, so I’d always double check Koka Booth’s official events page before you lock in plans, especially for anything more than a couple weeks out.

Getting there and parking

Koka Booth Amphitheatre sits at 8003 Regency Pkwy in Cary, right off Cary Parkway near Regency Parkway, and it’s an easy drive from pretty much anywhere in the Triangle. Free general parking is available in the venue’s own lots, and for the bigger concerts and festivals, gates typically open well before showtime, so plan to arrive early if you want a good lawn spot. Traffic backs up fast on Regency Parkway for the sold out shows, so give yourself extra time, especially for ZZ Top and Rainbow Kitten Surprise, which are both likely to draw a full house.

A few of the bigger nights also offer reserved or VIP parking passes through the ticketing site, which can be worth it if you’re bringing a group and don’t want to deal with the lawn shuffle after the show lets out.

A few things to know before you go

Most shows here are lawn seating first, so bring a blanket or low beach chairs, and check the specific event page since some shows restrict chair height or ban outside food and drink. Cary evenings cool off fast once the sun goes down in October, so a light jacket is never a bad call even if the afternoon feels warm. And if you’re coming for one of the festivals rather than a ticketed concert, budget extra time since those tend to draw families and run all day rather than clearing out after a couple hours.

Honestly, this is the kind of fall lineup that makes me grateful Koka Booth is basically in our backyard. Whether you’re going for the music or the festivals, there’s a reason to be out there most weekends between now and Halloween. If you end up at one of these, I’d love to hear which show was your favorite.
