Halloween in the Triangle stretches out over most of October these days, not just the 31st. Here is what is actually on the calendar this year, including a couple of dates that are still estimates rather than locked in, so you know what to double check before you plan around them. If you still need to hit a pumpkin patch or corn maze first, that list is worth a look too.

Spooky Hollow First Friday (Raleigh)
Smoky Hollow’s Halloween-themed First Friday is penciled in for Friday, October 2, from 6 to 9pm at 421 N Harrington St. I am flagging this one as an estimate. It follows the same first-Friday-of-October pattern as last year, but Downtown Raleigh has not officially confirmed the 2026 date yet, so check downtownraleigh.org before you build your evening around it.
Trick-or-Treat Downtown (Fuquay-Varina)
The Fuquay-Varina Downtown Association’s Trick-or-Treat Downtown is set for Friday, October 23, from 3 to 6pm along S Main St. This is an easy one for families who want a safe, walkable trick-or-treat without driving all over the county, and it pairs well with an early dinner downtown afterward.
Kooky Spooky Halloween Party at Marbles (Raleigh)
Same night, October 23, Marbles Kids Museum downtown runs its Kooky Spooky Halloween Party from 7 to 9:30pm at 201 E Hargett St. If Trick-or-Treat Downtown in Fuquay-Varina does not fit your evening, this is a good Raleigh-based alternative for the littler kids, just later in the evening and indoors.
Halloween on Franklin Street (Chapel Hill)
The big one, if you want to go all out, is still Halloween on Franklin Street on October 31. I am marking this one as an estimated date too, since it has not been officially confirmed for 2026, and it is worth knowing that Chapel Hill has scaled back the event’s format in recent years over crowd-safety concerns. If a full-scale street celebration is what you are picturing, confirm the current format with the town before you drive out for it.
The Short Version
If you only pick two, Trick-or-Treat Downtown in Fuquay-Varina and the Marbles party the same night cover most families well without much driving. Everything else here is a nice-to-have, especially the two estimated dates, so give the organizers a quick check before you commit the whole evening to any one of them. And if Halloween is really just the finish line, the rest of the season’s fall bucket list covers everything leading up to it.
